Before joining RISE Capital, Derek built a diverse professional background centered around leadership, service, and entrepreneurship. Most recently, he helped launch a family business in pursuit of one of his father’s lifelong dreams. Earlier in his career, he earned his way to becoming a general manager of a large health club and played a key role in advising and launching a niche fitness company, further showcasing his initiative and collaborative spirit.
Derek lives with his Maltese poodle, Tinsel. Outside of work, he volunteers with 4-H and enjoys hosting dinner parties for friends and family. He also taps into his creative side through photography, web design, and acting, and stays active as a fitness enthusiast who enjoys hiking.
